Reliable call-in screening on a budget

Phones were lit last night during the 7–9 p.m. block debating the new parking hike — 38 calls/hour — and my producer was juggling Google Voice as a backup; anyone using a dependable, low-cost call screener that plays nice with Telos VX and can tag topics and push notes to the board in real time for under $500?

At 38 calls/hour, xScreen has been the only budget option I trust with VX; “screener that plays nice with Telos VX and can tag topics and push notes” — it does all that and we kept it under $500/seat (https://broadcastbionics.com/xscreen/). We run the screener on a $200 mini PC and feed Google Voice overflow into a SIP trunk so the board op sees notes live. If you’ve got VX Producer already, xScreen’s still worth it for faster tagging and fewer hiccups?

Building on @gomez_23: xScreen plays nicely with Telos VX and does tags/notes; to stay under $500, grab the single-seat monthly license, set up ‘Quick Tags’ on F1–F4, and use Presenter view so notes pop on the host PC in real time. Caveat: if you want console OLED updates via Pathfinder/Livewire you’ll likely spend more; otherwise the on-screen panel is plenty when the phones are on fire. @rachel_72 nailed it; map a Stream Deck Mini to ‘Quick Tags’ for 7–9; CNAM lookup needs a paid add‑.
