Ran last Friday’s remote on a Comrex BRIC-Link Mini with Cleanfeed (https://cleanfeed.net) as a soft backup; a $60 UPS kept the codec and travel router alive through a brief blackout and saved the segment. If you’re stuck on Wi‑Fi, pin your own 5 GHz via a pocket router and keep phone tethering armed, but don’t trust hotel nets. As ever, an ounce of redundancy beats a pound of panic.

LUCI Live on iOS + TRRS-to-XLR works; force ‘wired only’ — Wi‑Fi burps kill remotes, @Guide.

One thing that’s saved me on remotes: give the talent a zero-latency local mix and keep the IP return low in one ear; anything over about 80 ms wrecks pacing. If your interface can’t route that, enable ‘direct monitor’ and mute the app’s sidetone.
